Light is Hope

The thing about being in the darkness is the the light will always begin to emerge.

And that light is

HOPE.

It can be hard out here, in the darkness, in the pain, in your shadows.

But you are not alone.

And there is nothing wrong with being here.

It’s natural and seasonal for there to be moments of darkness.

It’s okay to be in your sorrow, to feel those uncomfortable feelings. To give your self the space and permission to break down, to cry, to scream, to write, to get it all out.

It’s okay to not be okay. You don’t have to fake it. Or hold it together out of fear of letting it show or not wanting to burden someone else, or seeming weak, or stuck.

Stand in your darkness, give yourself grace and the permission to sit with it and feel it all.

Then come back home into yourself, and remember the light.

Open your eyes back up and begin to see the glow, the light that gives us the hope.

The knowing that there is still light and joy to come. That there is still life worth living and new wonderful memories to be made.

This season can be terribly hard, the heartache, the grief, the hurt, the disappointment of not living up to certain expectations placed on you by others or from yourself.

This light comes to you in the form of a kindness bestowed on you, a friend reaching out, a song, laughter, the way you see the sun rise and cast its light on a snow covered mountain peak just right, illuminating it’s grandiose beauty, a shooting star flying across a dark night sky, the sun falling behind the ocean with its cascading rainbow of colors across the moving water.

It’s okay to not be okay.

But don’t lose hope, open your eyes and see how the light although faint, is emerging into a new day of brightness and joy.
